This week's top dish from Eater DC, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...
LOGAN CIRCLE—Rumor exploded last night that Philadelphia restaurateur Stephen Starr was coming to 14th Street along with new locations for Matchbox, Ted's Bulletin and another restaurant for Estadio's Mark Kuller. The Starr story has panned out, but Eater reached out to the other restaurateurs who all deny any deals.
OLD TOWN—Virtue Feed & Grain, the latest project from restaurateurs Cathal and Meshelle Armstrong, opens this evening for dinner service by Old Town's Potomac waterfront. Eater got a look inside the tavern set in an historic warehouse that the restaurateurs renovated using reclaimed materials that hint at the building's past.
NAVY YARD—What's that you hear? More Shake Shack! Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group announced that the burger joint plus three of its other concepts are opening in Nationals Park on Tuesday. The Nats are playing the Cards, if you want to get your tickets now.
EVERYWHERE—Two words: Meat cologne.
EVERYWHERE—Eater DC launched its first-ever edition of the Eater 38, a list of essential Washington restaurants that span all neighborhoods and cuisines for your restaurant needs, save for those occasions when you absolutely must spend half a paycheck. These recommendations are presented in random order and will be updated periodically.
