This week's top dish from Eater DC, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

DUPONT CIRCLE—This was the week everyone was waiting for: Shake Shack opened its doors in the old Fuddruckers space south of Dupont Circle. The lines were long, as expected, and Eater got lots of pictures of the opening day festivities that included a performance by Detroit band Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.

PENN QUARTER—The week began with the surprise news that award-winning chef José Andrés is temporarily closing his popular restaurant Cafe Atlantico to open a pop-up restaurant named America Eats Tavern. He's launching the new restaurant in support of a National Archives exhibit, "What's Cooking, Uncle Sam? The Government's Effect on the American Diet."

BETHESDA—Maryland got itself a new New England-style seafood shack with the arrival of Freddy's Lobster + Clams in Bethesda on Tuesday. They've got lobster rolls, fried seafood galore and plenty of craft beer on tap.

NATIONAL HARBORFiorella Pizzeria e Caffé is scheduled to open in National Harbor on May 26 and Eater got some details on what you can expect from the Roman-style pizzeria.
