Maya Lin, celebrated designer of the Vietnam Memorial, will be making her mark on the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA. This time around she'll be designing one of several new buildings on the east campus that will be leased by the biomedical research company Novartis. The only potential snag is that the plans call for two zoning laws to be changed. One of them would require raising the height limits by twenty feet and the other to increase the total amount of floor area. Will DC follow suit if this goes through? [ArchPaper]
