Different By Design

Baltimore designer, Monica Haji, published her first book last month and WaPo has an illuminating interview with her about her design philosophy. The book, Interior Visions, goes against the grain of many a decorating commandment including the suggestion that it is okay to paint a dark room darker. Other shocking revelations are that antiques aren't necessarily special 'just because they're antiques' and American folk art isn't necessarily kitschy. [WaPo]
