Gehry Wants Tapestries To Honor Eisenhower

Frank Gehry was recently in town to present his plan for the Eisenhower Memorial to the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts. Turns out what he wants to do hasn't ever been done before, but that isn't stopping this octogenarian. Seems wire mesh constructions--which Gehry calls tapestries--will be an integral part of the design. The thing is the tapestries need to depict different phases of the President's life while they are also transparent enough for people to see through them. That truly is a first, Frank.
