It isn't just H Street that is bringing the streetcar back. A whole thirty-seven miles of streetcar lines are coming our way ready to help the past meet the future. The new report by the Committee of 100 says that the proposed plans are pretty darn good, but a few of the lines need some more thought (yes, one of them is H Street). Now, the claim that this will be a World Class Streetcar System For A World Class City is a little lofty, but we'll let them get away with it this time. After all, they brought us the Metro in the 50s and we still shock New Yorkers every time they see the carpeted floors.
