Controversial Santas

Oh good grief. Wait, that's Charlie Brown's line and his annual Christmas special hasn't hit the airwaves yet. But what would he say to the latest flurry of controversy on the grounds of the Loudoun County Courthouse? A resident, Jeff Heflin, dressed a skeleton up as Santa and hung him from a cross, causing consternation from all sides. He was within the bounds of the law, but the laws are probably going to be changed very soon. His reason for doing this? As he told WUSA9, "It depicts how society's materialistic obsessions and addictions are killing the season's peace, love, joy and kindness." An outraged citizen took it upon herself to dismantle the statue on video. [WaPo; WUSA9]
