Artfully Chocolate to Shutter; Famous Chefs at Rogue 24

LOGAN CIRCLE—Some bad news this week for all the chocolate fiends out there: Artfully Chocolate (formerly known as ACKC) has decided to shutter its location on 14th Street. Its last day will be December 31 and afterward should you need a chocolate fix, you can always visit their two Alexandria shops.

MT VERNON SQUARERogue 24 chef RJ Cooper is facing some serious surgery in January and will be out of the kitchen for at least 10 weeks. To deal with that tough situation, Rogue 24 is bringing in famous chefs from all over the country to fill in for Cooper in what they're calling the "Rogue Sessions." Substitute chefs include José Andrés, Bryan Voltaggio, John Currence and others — in other words, pretty baller.

EVERYWHEREThe Washingtonian released its annual list of the region's 100 very best restaurants which, once again, is topped by Komi. Eater has some analysis and a partial list.

LOGAN CIRCLE—The guys behind barbecue beer garden the Standard have quietly applied for a liquor license at another location a few blocks further down 14th Street. They're keeping mum on the project, but the liquor license notes that it will be an Italian restaurant.

U STREET—Philly-style sandwich shop Taylor Gourmet announced an opening date for its brand new 14th Street location: January 3.
