The American Bar Association made a bundle on the recent sale of their DC offices at 714 15th St. NW. They bought the building in 1994 for $20M and listed it earlier in the summer for $65M and closed the deal at $69M with a sale to the John Buck Company (a Chicago real estate firm). The ABA will lease it from the new owners until next summer while they move into a new building. John Buck Co plans to modernize the building and reintroduce it to the market shortly thereafter.
