The High Cost Of Housing

The thinking types at the locally-based National Housing Conference and Center for Housing Policy have updated their interactive database Paycheck to Paycheck that displays data on housing costs and wages by metropolitan areas along with a report on retail season workers and their housing challenges. The report looks at different occupations 'integral to the holiday retail season' and analyzes whether or not their wages are in line with the housing costs in that city. Interestingly, they also list the most expensive housing areas in the country. Bethesda is in eleventh place and the District is sixteenth. [NHC]
