Naval Past Times

This weekend the Old Naval Hospital re-opened as The Hill Center, a place for 'educational, cultural and civic activities' at the corner of 9th and Pennsylvania SE. The 100-year old building attracted the attention of archaeologists during the renovations, especially when the ground was being dug for the installation of a geothermal heating system. Their biggest find was a bunch of old bottles—some used for liquids of a more recreational nature—that have been preserved with all their dustiness intact. [OfficialSite; THIH]
