Earlier today the Trulia number crunchers released their Metro Movers report which tallies up the search data about the cities that are getting the most looks on their site. They also compare the number of people living in a city but searching for homes outside the region where they live. Surprisingly, Trulia data show that there are more than twice as many "outbound" searches by people living in the DC area as there are "inbound" searches by people who want to live here. A large portion of that is people staying within a five hundred mile radius of where they currently live, as you can see from the thicker lines in the map above. There's other fascinating stuff about the comings and goings of DMV residents so click on over for the nitty gritty. And after the jump we have a map of the most popular "inbound" searches for the cities people are coming from.
