From Apartments To Electricity

Well, that's one less mixed-use building coming to the area. The project at 5220 Wisconsin that was going to be a 70-90 unit building by Akridge has been bought by Pepco. Preliminary suggestions indicate the power company will use it to expand the substation which is adjacent to the two parcels of land. Akridge paid $3.95M for both lots in 2003, while Pepco shelled out $14.5M at the end of September. [WBJ]
