The University of Maryland got to raise the state flag this weekend at the Solar Decathlon when their eco-friendly house won the competition with a total score of 951.151. Nineteen different teams designed their heart out to come up with solar-powered houses that people could live in comfortably. The different designs were judged across ten categories—ranging from 'architecture' to 'home entertainment'—and Maryland edged out runners-up Team Purdue and Team New Zealand by 20-30 points. For a guided tour of the winning house, check out the video after the jump.
