Barack Obama Dines In Arlington; More Meatballs Details

CLARENDONBarack Obama stopped in at Clarendon's Liberty Tavern last night for a meal with four people who donated to his campaign. The president dined on swordfish and an amuse of a house-made Chicago hot dog with pickled vegetables on a poppyseed roll. Liberty Tavern owner Stephen Fedorchak shared more details from the dinner with Eater.

PENN QUARTER—Michel Richard's meatballery that is aptly named Meatballs is inching ever closer to opening in Penn Quarter. Eater got a look inside the place and chatted with Richard about this project as well as the one-year anniversary of Michel in Tysons Corner.

DOWNTOWN—Vietnamese-inspired Bonmi opened its doors downtown this week with banh mi sandwiches and meats that are prepared sous-vide.

MT VERNON SQUAREChipotle also celebrated its "grande" opening this week at the City Vista complex in Mount Vernon Square.

ROCKVILLE—Local small chain Chef Geoff's is now officially expanding to Rockville, where it will open its very first Maryland outpost in the restaurant space that formerly housed Againn Tavern.
