The Most Expensive Houses For Sale In DC, MD, and VA

The District wins this game, with three out of the five houses on the list sitting inside the city limits. Maryland and Virginia represent with one house each. Number one is the beloved Halcyon House, built in 1787. With five bedrooms and nine bathrooms it sits on top of a Prospect Street hill that gives fantastic views. Priced at $15M it has been on the market for almost a year at this price.

Next is a $12.5M house in McLean with seven bedrooms, eleven bathrooms overlooking the Potomac River. Each bath has a jacuzzi tub.

The next most expensive house used to be two homes but was merged into one huge residence about ten years ago. It originally went on the market for $18.5M a few years ago, but was re-listed recently for $12M.

The next two on the list are both $10M homes. Above is another Georgetown residence along Cox's Row (and was built by Colonel John Cox in the early 1800s). Beds: 6 Baths: 9 (and eight fireplaces).

The most expensive house just over the Maryland line is in Potomac for an even ten million dollars. It's a nine bedroom, seventeen bathroom home with eight fireplaces.
