655 New York Avenue from Douglas Development on Vimeo.
Over the course of four days, Douglas Development and Davis Construction made history by moving an 880-ton building 34 feet east onto a concrete slab. This move marked Washington, D.C.'s biggest home move ever, and this summer, the developer hopes to break this record once more by moving a 1,100-ton warehouse currently located at 632 L Street NW. These moves come with the plan to construct a $122.5 million mixed-use development expected to deliver by 2018. The development will feature 420,000-square-feet of office and retail space and a 200,000-square-foot garage. Above, check out a one-minute time-lapse video of the first move that was posted on Douglas Development's Vimeo.· Here's another angle on D.C.'s biggest move ever [Washington Business Journal]
